Renewables · Installation standards
Two tiers, one standard of care.
Every Sharp Heating installation is built to a properly engineered standard. For clients who want the finish to match, we offer a premium upgrade tier.
- MCS certified
- Properly engineered as standard
- Premium upgrade tier available
- BUS £7,500 grant on both tiers

Most heat pump installers fit the unit, run the pipework, and move on. We approach every installation as a series of considered decisions: how the unit sits in the property, how the pipework is routed, how the system integrates with the rest of the home. Below is what's included as standard on every Sharp Heating job, and what's available as a premium upgrade for clients who want the installation to disappear into the architecture.
Tier 1 · Included on every job
The Sharp Heating standard install
Included on every job. Properly engineered as standard.
- 1
Timber-framed gravel base
Drainage considered. Unit feet on stone pads, not just sitting on the timber.
- 2
Pipework fully insulated
Black armaflex insulation, neatly clipped and properly supported throughout.
- 3
Premium units as standard
Vaillant aroTHERM Plus, Viessmann Vitocal 250-A, Mitsubishi Ecodan QUHZ where suitable.
- 4
Considered siting
Away from bedrooms and from neighbours' windows.
- 5
Cable routing in flexible conduit
Not exposed. Clipped to a consistent line.
- 6
Condensate handled properly
Discharge routed to a point that does not undermine planting or soft landscaping.
- 7
Full handover paperwork
MCS certificate. BUS grant application submitted on your behalf. Warranty registration. Building control sign-off.
Tier 2 · Optional upgrade tier
The Sharp Renewables premium install
Optional upgrade tier. Priced separately. For owners who want the installation to disappear into the property.
Everything in Tier 1, plus a selection from:
Stone or hardwood plinth
Replaces the timber sleeper frame with cut stone, polished concrete, or mitred hardwood. A base that looks like part of the garden design.
Cladding and enclosure
Anthracite louvred enclosure, brushed steel surround, or timber slatted screen. The unit's industrial character disappears.
Concealed pipework
Chased into walls where the property allows, or routed via soffit and internal voids. No insulated copper running across a visible elevation.
Acoustic treatment beyond standard
Additional anti-vibration mounts, acoustic blankets, sound-attenuating siting where neighbours are close.
Integrated landscaping
Bordered gravel beds, planting plans, raised borders, hard landscaping ties. The unit becomes part of the garden design.
Smart home integration
Tado, Hive, Nest, Apple Home, Google Home, or full Modbus and KNX where present.
Period-property and listed work
Sympathetic placement, planning advice, liaison with conservation officers.
Tier 1 and Tier 2, side by side
The same standard of care, different finishes. Both photographs are recent Sharp Heating installs across Hertfordshire.

Daikin Altherma, Ware
Unit set on level feet, insulated pipework and tidy cable routing run square to the wall. The Sharp Heating standard install, included on every job.

Aira heat pump, Goffs Oak
Custom timber base built to frame the unit into the garden, considered siting and a clean finish. A premium-tier touch on a standard footprint.
